Port info


Navigational conditions

  • Only vessels that do not exceed draft 12 m, length 240 m, and breadth 40 m are allowed into the port's inner waters. Gas carriers are forbidden to enter port waters. When in port waters, vessels whose draft is 11 m or more are considered to be restricted by draft, and should exhibit the lights and signals specified by Rule 28 of the IRPCS-72.
  • Safety control of all vessels in port waters is performed by Vessel Traffic Control (VTC). All maneuvers in controlled water areas and port waters must be done under VTC control. For all operations including entering the controlled area, dropping and heaving up anchor, mooring at and leaving berth, shifting, heaving the log, and so on. Vessels must request VTC permission.
  • Navigable period is possible year-round, but during severe winter ice conditions that can last about 30 days, icebreaker assistance often proves to be necessary. Ice formation may begin in late December and last until February. Strong winds and gales quite often break the ice; and in mild winters, ice may not even appear in Odessky Gulf. Tides depend on wind force and duration, ranging between 0,6-1,0 m.

Tug assistance and Pilotage

  • Tug assistance is compulsory for vessels more than 100 m long.
  • Pilotage is compulsory. Master should order tugs via the Agent no less than 2 hours prior to their ship's readiness for departure.

Port service

  • Potable water can be supplied from barge while vessel pier alongside or on roads, minimum quantity - 15 t. Customs formalities will done by Agent within 2-3 hours in port working day.
  • Collection and discharge of oil-polluted and sewage waters from all vessels can be performed by port services upon master's order and in accordance with standard tariffs.
  • All kinds of deck and engine repair work are available.
  • Equipment and training personnel for cleaning holds is available.
