Palm Oil is obtained from the fruit of the oil palm tree. In its natural form, palm oil has a semi-solid consistency and a balanced fatty acid composition. It differs from many types of vegetable oils high in solid triglycerides and monounsaturated fatty acids. In the composition of triglycerides of palm oil are mainly palmitic acid (~ 44%) and oleic acid (~ 40%). In addition, palm oil contains a high amount of beta carotene.
